This division’s responsible mainly resides in overseeing grant proposal development at the ISIS Center. Its functions include (i) assisting the faculty in writing proposals, (ii) communicating grant-related requirements to faculty and staff, (iii) maintaining computer files with resource documents to facilitate proposal preparation, and (iv) identifying funding opportunities. The division also serves as a go-between with Georgetown colleagues such as the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Medical Center Office of Sponsored Research--and with outside colleagues/grantors.
The division’s interaction with ISIS faculty--especially junior faculty—is aimed at fostering professional development. This is accomplished though enhancement of writing skills and grantsmanship in general.
